Assistance from requirements to implementation, for the transition to a new Cloud SaaS Insurance Platform.
The Challenge
The client was conducting a business transformation journey with technology initiatives to streamline its current operations and offer better customer service throughout the insurance life cycle (campaign, sales, policy management, claims management and customer complaints).
Operationally, the insurer was seeking to improve staff efficiency through an integrated platform that offered connectivity to its legacy core insurance systems to improve workflow management and automation.
To improve customer service, the insurer was looking for a better customer relationship management (CRM) tool and to increase customers’ digital capability.
Our Work
Frazer Walker was engaged from Feb 2022 to Nov 2023 to provide professional services to assist the client to assess and document requirements and to work with the insurer and its chosen insurance platform provider to configure and implement a replacement insurance application. Our work included:
- Assisting the client with gathering and documenting the requirements to be used as a base for the technology transformation project. The focus of the requirements was to map the current and future planned processes of the complete insurance life cycle. Given the short timeframe, the decision was to map the processes at a high-to-medium level, which would give the selected vendor sufficient information on the scope.
- Working with the vendor during the development phase to help gather the detailed requirements in the required format. FW also assisted with testing during product implementation. The project used a hybrid Waterfall and Agile methodology.
- Documenting the requirements for a new insurance customer portal as part of a tactical solution to release the portal, while a more strategic review of the solution and approach was in progress.
